Following the close of the 2023 Taft College baseball season, a total of four Cougars were honored with postseason Central Valley Conference awards.
Sophomore Jesus Cruz Suarez (infielder), sophomore Sebastian Cabeza (catcher), sophomore Izzy Halton (utility), and freshman Owen Hayes (outfield) all earned second-team, All-Central Valley Conference honors.
Cruz Suarez (Springfield, Mass.) compiled a .317 batting average on the season with 8 doubles, 2 home runs, and 25 RBI. Cabeza hit a team-high 6 home runs to go with 26 RBI. Halton tied for the team-lead with 32 runs while hitting .296 with 7 doubles and 2 home runs. Hayes hit .308 for TC and added a pair of home runs and 16 RBI.
Taft wrapped up the season with a 14-26 overall record. The Cougars finished fifth in the final conference standings with an 8-16 mark.
