Due to cancellation of the originally scheduled home game against Oxnard College, Taft picked up a smooth win against the of West Hills College Falsons, in Coalinga in a non-conference game. Wesley Hebert, Kyle Gaura and Zach Jones each collected 3 hits. Hebert and Gaura had home runs. Jayce Gardner went 4-for-6 with 2 RBI's and 2 doubles. Noah Sirkel went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI's, and Gaura had 3 RBI's.
Freshman Lefty; Cassius Shy collected his first collegiate win in his first start as a Cougar. He tossed 3 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 walks and 1 hit. Six additional pitchers threw one inning each out of the bullpen for TC.
Taft will open up conference play on Tuesday, March 6th at Reedley College. The first pitch is at 2:00 pm.
