Taft College dropped the series rubber match at LA Harbor College 8-11. Tait Ludwick could not get through the first inning, as he surrendered 7 runs in .1 innings of work to take the loss. Four pitchers came out of the bullpen for Taft College. Cassius Shy tossed 1.2 scoreless innings, Bryan Santiago tossed 2.1 scoreless innings and Blake Tiede threw 3 shutout innings on just 3 hits.
Offensively, Wesley Hebert went 3-for-5 with 2 homeruns and 3 RBI's to lead the Cougars. Kyle Gaura was a homerun shy of the cycle with his own 3 hit, 3 RBI performance. Jade smoot also went 3-for-5 with 2 singles and a double. Alec Oleson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double.
The Cougars will look to bounce back at home with ace Nick O'Connor on the mound Tuesday February 20 at 2:00pm against LA Pierce.
