L 2-1

On Tuesday, Taft College fell on the shorter end of an incredibly well pitched game on both sides. Will Moore got the start on the bump and allowed 1 run in the first inning, on a balk call with two outs and a runner on third. Moore pitched through the sixth inning without surrendering another run. He gave up 4 hits and struck out 4.

Taft College got their run in the third when Jayce Gardner scored on a wild pitch during Kyle Gaura's at-bat.

Seth Sorensen came out of the bullpen to throw innings 7 through 9, and allowed 1 run on 4 hits to take the tough loss.

Richard Ortiz, Travis Turner, Luke Lubiniecki, and Gardner had the only Cougar hits of the game.

Taft will look to bounce back to .500 on Thursday when they travel to Reedley for game two of a three game set.
