Taft College completed the sweep of West Hills College at Coalinga on Saturday in 10 innings. Chase Nistor started on the bump for the Cougars. He went 7 innings, allowed only 1 run and struck out 7.

The Cougars struck first when Quintin Nakamura doubled to score Luke Lubiniecki in the fourth inning. Two more runs were scored in the fifth, when Richard Ortiz got hit by pitch with the bases loaded to score Jayce Gardner, and Travis Turner reached on a fielder's choice to score Nick Kawano.

Seth Sorensen tossed two innings in relief to earn the win. He allowed 2 runs in 2 innings of work on 5 hits with 1 strike out.

The Cougars struck for 4 in the top of the tenth inning when Nakamura was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Ortiz, Dayton Wilson reached on an error to score Nakamura and Lubiniecki and then Jayce Gardner doubled to drive in Wilson to put the game away in extras.

Bryan Santiago closed out the game in the tenth inning.

The Taft College Cougars are now 18-18-1 Overall, and 9-9 in conference. The regular season's final series will be against Reedley College. Game one will be on Tuesday April 25, at 2:00 pm on Cougar Field.
