On Saturday, Taft wrapped up their spring break Baseball games with a solid offensive performance against Moorpark College in Los Angeles. A total of 9 runs were scored on 12 hits.

Quintin Nakamura, Brendan Halstrom, and Luke Lubiniecki each had 2-for-5 performances at the Plate. Richard Ortiz went 1-for-4 with his eighth homer of the season. Ortiz's homerun put the Cougars up 5 in the eighth inning. Six Cougars collected 1 hit. Nick Kawano and Jayce Gardner had a double.

Chase Nistor started on the mound and tossed 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 4. Nistor earned the win. Six Cougar pitchers got work out of the bullpen in relief, and Seth Sorensen earned the save by getting a pop fly from throwing one pitch with 2 outs in the ninth.

Taft is now 15-18-1 overall, and 6-9 in CVC play. They head into a crucial series against West Hills (19-15, 8-7) of Coalinga next week starting Wednesday at 2:00 pm in Coalinga.
