Taft @ El Camino, Compton Ed. Center

The Taft College Cougars went on a three game road trip in Los Angeles for Spring Break starting on Thursday night against Compton at the MLB Urban Youth Academy Baseball Field.

The Cougars made the most of their 9 hits; scoring 8 runs. While Compton scored 7, on 11 hits.

Will Moore started on the mound and tossed 4 innings, giving up 4 runs, with just 1 of them earned. Bryan Santiago got the win tossing 2 shutout innings. Tyson Canfield pitched innings 7 and 8 to allow 2 runs on 2 walks and 2 hits. Seth Sorensen earned the save in the ninth.

Offensively, Taft struck for a big 4 run seventh inning. Richard Ortiz doubled to score Jayce Gardner then Brendan Halstrom drove in Ortiz, and Kyle Gaura with a deep double over the right fielders head. Travis Turner singled to score Halstrom for the fourth run of the inning.

Kyle Gaura led the way for the Cougars in the batter's box. He reached base in all 5 of his plate appearances collecting 2 singles and 3 walks. Brendan Halstrom and Nick Kawano both went   2-for-4. Ortiz and Halstrom each snagged 2 RBI's.
