On Tuesday, Taft College opened up a three game series on the road against the Coyotes of Cerro Coso. Offensively, The Cougars could not manage to score enough runs. Coyote starter Alex Rosales threw 5.2 innings and surrendered just 2 runs. Luke Lubiniecki was the only Taft hitter to have 2 hits. He went 2-for-4. Dominic Tating, Brendan Halstrom, Lubiniecki, and Jayce Gardner were responsible for driving in each of Taft's runs.
Brendan Halstrom hit a towering solo homerun in the top of the 7th inning.
Taft will host Cerro Coso for game two of the series on Thursday, March 30 at 2:00 pm.
