The Cougar Baseball team traveled to Allan Hancock College on Thursday taking the loss, 17-4.
Cougar Pitchers walked 5 batters on balls and hit 6 batters. Cougar pitchers just could not find a way to consistently throw strikes and compete throughout the latter innings of the game. Mark O' Connor got the start tossing 3.2 innings and allowing 4 runs on 3 walks and 2 hits. Tait Ludwick took the loss collecting no outs and giving up a run on 2 hits.
Offensively, Nick Kawano and Richard Ortiz went 2-for-4, and 4 other Cougars collected a hit apiece.
Taft College will host a double header against Oxnard College on Saturday March 4th at 11:00 am and 2:30 pm. Conference play opening day is on Tuesday March 7th when the Cougars travel to play College of the Sequoias for game one of a three game series.
