On Saturday, Taft College traveled to Salinas to square off against Hartnell. Chase Nistor took the loss on the bump tossing 4 innings and allowing 5 earned runs on 10 hits. Aaron Page, Bryan Santiago, Tait Ludwick, and Kirkland Chalus all got work out of the bullpen in innings 5-8.
Offensively, the Cougars scored 3 runs on Brandon Stevens' towering 3-run homer in the 7th. Nick Kawano collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats and Richard Ortiz went 1-for-4.
