Taft College at Antelope Valley College

The Taft College baseball team traveled to Lancaster on Thursday to win a pitcher's duel. Chase Nistor got his first start of the season and tossed 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on, no walks and 3 strikeouts. Seth Sorensen came out of the bullpen to toss the last 3 innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and 2 strikeouts.

The Cougars managed 4 runs on 8 hits. Travis Turner plated a 3-for-4 performance; Quintin Nakamura went 2-for-3, and 3 other Cougars collected singles. Richard Ortiz, Nakamura, Kaivon Kealoha, and Turner each had 1 RBI.

The Cougars will host San Joaquin Delta College again on Monday February 20th.
