Taft College hosted LA Mission College of Sylmar on Wednesday and took the tough 7-4 Loss. Mission's Alex Devito hit a go ahead 3-run home run in the top of the 9th inning to break the tie and secure the win for the visiting team.
Freshman pitcher Tait Ludwick owned the start and tossed 5.2 solid innings giving up 3 runs on 9 hits.
The Cougars scored 4 runs on 7 hits. Kaivon Kealoha went 2-for-4 with a single, double and 2 RBI's. Nick Kawano also went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Quintin Nakamura and Brendan Halstrom both collected an RBI. Dayton Wilson and Nash Franko went 1-for-3.
Kyler Shiflett tossed 1 inning and surrendered 1 run. Bryan Santiago took the loss throwing 1.2 innings and allowing 2 runs, and Chase Nistor pitched the 9th.
