Breast Cancer Awareness Supported by Taft College Sports

TAFT, CA – The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a worldwide annual campaign to increase awareness and support research. During the month, thousands of volleyball programs from around the country ranging from middle school to college, student-athletes, coaches, athletic departments, administrators, and campuses combine efforts to not only make the campaign festive, but highly informative. It is a time devoted to educating the public about breast cancer awareness and research.

This Friday, October 20, Taft College Women's Volleyball and Soccer will join efforts to support the campaign. Taft College's Associated Student Organization (ASO) will also provide their support by organizing a pregame Tailgate Party directly outside of the Al Baldock Cougar Sports Center from 4:45 to 5:45 pm. The Tailgate will host an array of games, such as jumbo jenga and connect four, cornhole, and football catching. Prizes, along with many other games will be added to the venue. There will also be Costco hot dogs given to the first 60 fans in attendance.

During the volleyball game, there will be a raffle drawing for additional prizes given out as well. TC Volleyball players and staff will decorate the gym in pink and will wear accessories to their game uniform attire. Fans in attendance for the women's soccer game will receive a free goodie bag ensembled with pink decorations.

Matches for women's soccer kick off at 12:30 pm and volleyball will begin at 6:00 pm. Both contests will be played against Porterville College. Come on out and show your support for your Lady Cougars!
