Longtime Taft College athletic director and volleyball coach Kanoe Bandy was the surprise recipient of an honor at the start of the Cougars' volleyball match last week. Bandy, who coached the Cougars for 33 years and led them to 567 wins, five Central Valley Conference championships, and 13 state playoff appearances, has also been instrumental in California's community college volleyball for many years. The college honored her with a banner listing her accomplishments that will hang over the TC volleyball court. She reacts to the honor with new TC volleyball coach Mallori Rossi and former player Kaena Apana, a member of the Hall of Fame 2004 team that placed fourth in the state.
