Freshman Jada Dias is having an impressive first season with the Taft College women’s volleyball team. On March 9, the Honolulu, Hawaii native (McKinley HS) was named the State Athlete of the Week by the California Community College Women’s Volleyball Coaches Association.
She’s helped lead the Cougars to a 5-3 overall record this spring and tops the TC offense with 65 kills and a 3.10 kills per set average while her 72 digs are second on the squad.
Her finest match of the season came on March 6 in a five-set win over Cuesta College when she totaled 17 kills and 21 digs.
