Jasmine Chipen-li, Women's Volleyball

Freshman volleyball player Jasmine Chipen-Ii has joined the Cougars as an outside hitter. Jasmine, a Kaimuki High School alumnus, traveled from Honolulu, Hawaii to Taft for the opportunity to advance as an athlete and as a student. Jasmine has already proven to be a valuable member of the volleyball team, bringing excellent offensive and defensive skills with her.

Jasmine is reliable both on and off the court. The team can always count her to get the ball back in the air and to always put a smile on their faces. Jasmine’s versatility is made more impressive when you find out that the seasoned player honed her skills in only three years, having only started playing volleyball in high school.

Jasmine, a business major, plans to transfer back to Hawaii after finishing her two years at Taft College. Using her education and passion for cooking, Jasmine plans to open and own her own restaurant. In the meantime, Jasmine has said that her favorite part of being a student-athlete at Taft College is being able to have fun with her team and bonding with them every day.
