Taft College sophomore baseball player, Tyler Gardner, has been highlighted by his teammates who have described him as a team player and a team leader. Tyler says he has been playing baseball for as a long as he can remember. After attending American Fork High School in Utah, Tyler went on an LDS mission to New Zealand. After returning from his mission, Tyler decided to come to Taft College to begin his higher education and play baseball in a competitive setting. He admits that the warm weather helped him decide to come to Taft.

Living up to his description as a “hard worker,” Tyler has maintained a GPA of 3.95. This week he is ranked first in the Central Valley Conference for his fielding percentage. After TC, Tyler plans to continue his education to obtain a BA degree in computer science while also continuing to play baseball. Wrapping up his time at Taft College this spring, Tyler will take with him what he called his favorite part of being a student-athlete, "the memories he’s made and the people he’s met."
