Ayla Diaz, a sophomore student-athlete at Taft College and a Sunrise Mountain High School alum, has been spotlighted by her teammates and coach thanks to her passion and dedication to basketball. Ayla, an all-positions player for women’s basketball, has been playing for a lengthy nine years. Her passion for playing basketball is what brought her to Taft College saying, “I didn’t care where or how, I just wanted to do it.”

Ayla is pursuing degrees in both allied health and psychology at Taft College and plans on using her education to help others by eventually pursuing a career as either a personal trainer or a social worker. To further these goals Ayla, plans on attending Bethesda University to earn her BA degree.

When asked what the most memorable moment of being an athlete at Taft College was, Ayla was reminded about the time her team showed up at her house to celebrate her birthday with her. This party is also where Ayla first met her now best friend.

Ayla continues to be a valuable addition to Taft College on and off the court, bringing passion to her sport and dedication to her teammates.
