Taft College freshman pitcher, Abrianna Carr, is this week’s athlete spotlight. Abrianna came to Taft College from Canyon Del Oro High School in Tucson Arizona. After a softball career that lasted over a decade, Abrianna thought she was finished playing softball until she was recruited by Taft College softball coach Gabrielle Brixey. Since then, Abrianna has been an important member of the team, pitching almost every game this season and achieving a total of 31 strikeouts.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments Abrianna is described as the true definition of a team player and as an exceptionally caring and supportive person. After TC, Abrianna plans on heading to a university where she can continue to play softball and finish her education.
